Description
DAVID SYLVIAN - ALCHEMY - AN INDEX OF POSSIBILITIES - VINYL LP - PROMO. SYL. Matrix numbers SYL 1 A and SYL 1 B.
The small print at centre bottom of back cover identifies this as a "Promotional copy - not for sale." There is a notice at top centre of back cover stating: " The sound quality of these recordings have suffered a little due to the exceptional circumstances under which they were produced consequently there is an excessive amount of tape hiss on some of the quieter pieces." The viny is in near mint condition. Owned by seller's husband from new, the record has hardly been played prior to play grading as evidenced by the fact that on close inspection under strong light not a single spindle trace can be discerned on the labels. The vinyl may nevertheless display the occasional surface mark/line/scuff - probably present from manufacture or from the white paper inner. On play grading, in spite of the above notice, this played beautifully with no discernible lessening in sound quality. The cover is in excellent minus/very good plus condition for its vintage and type. It has some wear to edges, corners and top and bottom of spine and there is some slight ring wear discernible at top and bottom centre of front and back, some tiny blemishes at bottom centre of front and the occasional blemish elsewhere. Opening edges remain nicely crisp, further evidencing the very light use this record has had. The white paper inner is in excellent condition albeit with some creasing.
Please note that postage costs reflect the fact that services offering enhanced compensation for loss or damage will need to be used to cover the value of the item.
