Dead Or Alive's 1984 Epic debut, produced by Zeus B Held, only achieved a minor chart placing: certainly one of those records that was more influential than it was popular. The album title lifts from a Shangri-Las song, and a matching 60s girl-group sensibility runs through the record beneath the synth-pop chassis, most explicitly on 'You Make Me Wanna'. Pete Burns later described making it as the most joyous experience of his life, which you can hear on 'I'd Do Anything' and its perhaps unintentional correspondent 'Absolutely Nothing'. This Music On Vinyl reissue is limited to just 1,000 exclusive numbered copies.
