DEAN MARTIN THE SILENCERS Promo Interview LP Near Mint

You are bidding on a rare, one-of-a-kind promotional lp for the 1966 spy comedy "The Silencers" starring Dean Martin as lead character Matt Helm.

LP was sent to radio stations to promote the film. What is very interesting about this record is that there are interviews with cast members Dean Martin on the set of the film. The lp is an "open-end interview" meaning there is silence between the answers. With the aid of the Cue-Sheet (see photo) The on-air announcer or radio disc jockey (could this be you?) then could give the allusion that they were having a personal one-on-one conversation with the Dean Martin and other stars of the film.

The beautiful 11-page Script sheet has the questions the interviewer could pose as well as the cue/time of the answer so they could know when to pose the next question. Also interviewed on the lp is cast members such as the beautiful and talented Stella Stevens (most known for her role in Jerry Lewis' The Nutty Professor), Dalia Lavi (herself known as a James Bond Girl)Side Two includes open-end interviews with Arthur O'Connell and Victor Buono.

The lp is in excellent condition with no scratches. I would call it a strong NM (Near Mint). It looks as if it had never been played before. There are some light surface noise inbetween cues (during the "dead air") and even at points during the interviews, but this might have been due to the way it was recorded itself as perhaps from outside noise while the cast was interviewed live on the set.

LP cover is also Near Mint with only some very light rubbing along the edges, it is practically perfect!

The Open-End Interview/Cue Sheet is in excellent shape and has been well preserved with some light age yellowing noticable.

Lp has no indication as to who exactly what label put it out, but I gather that since The Silencer's was a Columbia Pictures release, that they produced it themselves and had it sent to select radio stations. The labels on the lp mentions only the names of the cast interviewed and The typeface logo for the film itself.

Included in this auction are Supersized photos of the Album cover, the LP itself, and the script sheet which features some promotional artwork as well!
