Seiji Ozawas Antritt als Musikdirektor des San Francisco Symphony Orchestra im Jahr 1970 wurde später von Barack Obama anschaulich beschrieben: „Mit seinem Mop-Haarschnitt, seinen Rollkragenpullovern und seinen Liebesperlen sah er fast aus wie ein Beatle“. Diese Aufnahme von Dvořáks Sinfonie „Aus der Neuen Welt“ aus dem Mai 1975 war eine der letzten, die von Philips in Quadrophonie aufgenommen und speziell für diese Neuauflage neu abgemischt wurde.

Seiji Ozawa’s arrival in 1970 as music director of the San Francisco Symphony was later vividly described by Barack Obama: “with his mop haircut, and his turtlenecks, and his love beads, he almost looked like a Beatle”. This May 1975 recording of Dvořák’s New World Symphony was one of the last to be made quadraphonically by Philips and specially remixed for this reissue.

The new audiophile vinyl series DECCA PURE ANALOGUE presents iconic recordings from the Decca and Philips archives in a whole new sound quality. The renowned Emil Berliner Studios have remastered in 100% analogue quality (AAA) using technologies developed specially for the series. Each release in the series is pressed on 180g heavyweight virgin vinyl records and presented in deluxe gatefold editions, with original artwork and liner notes, with additional photos and facsimiles of the tape boxes and recording documentation.

Furthermore, each hand-numbered limited-edition release includes a new essay by Dominic Fyfe, Label Director of Decca Classics and Rainer Maillard (EBS) detailing the history of the recording and the technical background and procedure for the release.
