Rare DECCA contract pressing.   

Matrix numbers and etchings:  TPS 3511 A-1U  (Porky)  /  TPS 3511 B-1U  (Delta Pork)  /  TPS 3512 A-1U  (Pecko) /  TPS 3512 B-1U  (Peckie)

“3” stamper code at the nine o’clock position on sides 1-3.   At twelve o’clock on side4.

Ridge running around the label, approx. ½ inch from the label edge – only the contract pressings have this ridge.

NO “Made in Gt Britain” text at the bottom of the label – contract pressings do not have the "Made in Gt Britain" text.

In original outer laminated gatefold sleeve printed by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd.

Still cut just as loud as the EMI pressings!!!!

CONDITION:        I strive to provide an accurate and honest appraisal of condition.  It’s in my best interests to do so.  I WANT YOU TO COME BACK!    All records are checked in good light and play tested at a loud volume (unless described as sealed, brand new or stated otherwise).       STRICT   U.K. MAGAZINE  'RECORD COLLECTOR'  GRADING SYSTEM USED.  See below for the full definitions as provided by Record Collector magazine. 

Playing condition:   Side1 starts with some audible interference on every rotation for the first couple of minutes, which gets pushed to the background when ‘Highway Star’ kicks in, and disappears altogether soon after.    The rest of the side plays great with only some very minor background surface noise, only just detectable during the quietest sections.     Play grading for Side1 starts off as GOOD but soon becomes EX-.              Side2 playing condition is a fairly consistent EX.  Just 4 or 5 very light background pops at the beginning of ‘The Mule’, that’s all.            Playing condition of Side3 ranges from VG to EX.  Background surface noise and the occasional light pop on some, but not all, of the quieter sections.  Several audible pops early on in ‘Lazy’ - not too severe - nothing that in any way smothers the sound recording, but noticeable all the same.          Side4 playing condition ranges from GOOD+  to  EX-, with the majority of the side at least VG+.   A number of light pops in places including some consecutive pops during the quiet section towards the end of the side.     Overall,  NO loud obtrusive crackle.   NO distortion,   NO jumps,   NO sticking.  

Visually disc1 is in VG condition, with side1 better than this.   2 or 3 noticeable surface-only marks on side1,  a few more on side2.  None that feel to the touch.     Visually, side3 is VG-,  whilst side4 is GOOD-.  High number of noticeable surface marks – still none that feel to the touch.   Sides 3 and 4 play far, far better than they look!   They don’t make ‘em like this anymore.

Labels are VG.   Spindle marks evident on all sides.   NO tears.   NO writing.   NO stickers.

Sleeve is in VG- condition.    The minus is for some noticeable wear to the top and bottom of the spine, particularly the top (SEE PHOTOS).   Number of creases to the laminate.   Some grubbiness along the top and opening edge (where the laminate stops).  Inside the gatefold still looks nice and neat.   Spine text still easily readable.    NO seam splits.   NO writing.   NO erroneous stickers.

MINT The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint

EXCELLENT (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG) The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratches. Normal wear and tear on the cover and extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable

GOOD (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeable deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and or deface

POOR (P) The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing

BAD (B) The record is unplayable or might even be broken and is only of use as a collection filler
