RICHARDSON was of course the guitar player in afro funk rockers Osibisa. They were signed and moved to the UK where they scored heavily with the progressive rock crowd cutting a number of albums that received huge acclaim - and had their albums housed in many Roger Dean designed and painted sleeve. Surprisingly Dell would go on to replace Paul Kossoff in Free - an amazing switch but one that fuelled his reputation as a player of some repute. 

This was his debut and as far as I'm aware his only solo album released in 1973. The music is a tremendous mixture of earthy soul and progressive rock - very melodic and very early seventies with meandering passages and great arrangements. Check out the artwork which was also painted by Roger Dean - one of his best I feel. Sold nothing on release hence its rarity these days.

Weirdly his name is spelt Del on the front cover but Dell on the label...go figure.

Pressing: MCA, UK, 1973

Vinyl: Show signs of use - some bag rash, numerous light scuffs and needle drags (nothing audible) and a few concentric circular grooves. Looks way worse than it plays and as you know, I tend not to list anything that is questionably degraded. Grades as Vg+

Cover: Again some signs of use. Issued in a beautifully illustrated cover (by Roger Dean). Grades as Vg+
