DESMOND / SUMMUM feat ATLANTIC OCEAN
Echoes From The 90s
High Fashion Netherlands
12" Cat: MS 556Rel: 28 Sep 26
Funky/Club House Side 1. Echoes From The 90s (12" extended mix) Side 2. Echoes From The 90s (alternative extended mix)
Depending on your age, the new single from Dutch duo Desmond and Summum will either sound deliciously current or pleasingly nostalgic. Fittingly titled 'Echoes of the 90s', it features instantly recognisable melodic elements from Atlantic Ocean's mid-90s uplifying trance anthem, 'Waterfall'. These are combining with a booming and rumbling, speed garage style bassline, inspiring spoken word vocals (where the male lead talks about dancing "back in the days") and rolling house beats. It's colourful, tactile and tons of fun, as is the B-side 'Alternate extended mix', a pass that boasts more expressive nods to speed garage and a slower, more subtle introduction of the familiar Atlantic Ocean elements. It was designed as a summer anthem in waiting and we've no doubt you'll be hearing it a lot in the weeks and months ahead.
