Description
You'll be lucky to find this wonderful psych LP again. It's from 1967 and it's by a band called The Deviants who were originally known as the Social Deviants. This LP is pressed on the UK Underground Impresarios label (catalogue no. IMP 1) and it's a stereo pressing. This band formed the basis of the legendary Pink Fairies (with Twink) who went on to record the classic album 'Never Never Land' amongst others. There is a lot of fuzz guitar to compliment the songs and Mick Farren heads a cast of anarchic musicians who serve up a massive slice of psychedelia.
OUTER SLEEVE - The sleeve is a delicate fold-out type and is in pretty good condition considering its age. There are six sections (front and back) and all of them show definite wear and discolouration. There are some splits along the edges which have been repaired with clear tape in the past and this has now been removed, leaving a discoloured mark along these. there is definite wear and 'feathering' along the various edges but the sleeve is still intact and could be repaired again by the winner of this auction. This record is just so rare that you are unlikely to find this sleeve again. I've graded the sleeve as VG-.
INNER SLEEVE - This is plain white diecut type with a plastic liner. On one side it states 'PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS...ETC. - British Patent No. 800513 & 973939 MADE IN ENGLAND 3/0170'. I've graded the inner bag Ex.
RECORD - The record itself looks fine but it's definitely been played well with some surface marks on both sides. However, it plays very well on both sides with some audible surface noise on either side and some occasional pops and clicks. There are definitely no jumps or skips on any of the tracks. The labels are in lovely condition and there are some DEFINITE spindle marks. There is no damage to the labels on either side. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are as follows - side one - IMPS 001 A - 1- side two - IMPS 001 B - 1. I have graded the record as vg and I believe that this is very fair. I try to grade everything as accurately and conservatively as possible. The winner of this auction will not be disappointed.
