Description

The Complete DGG Beethoven Edition from 1977

This collection contains 12 boxes with 76 LPs, each box comes with two booklets, one describing the contents, one containing detailed information on one topic concerning Beethoven's life and times. All boxes are German DGG pressings with small tulip-labels from 1977. Performers and conductors include Fournier, Kempff, Bohm, Schneiderhan, Menuhin, the Amadeus Quartet, and many more.

  • Volume 2: The Concertos (6LPs)

  • Volume 3: Chamber Music for Wind Instruments (4LPs)

  • Volume 4: String Quartets(11LPs)

  • Volume 5: String-Trios (3LPs)

  • Volume 6: Piano Trios (6LPs). 

  • Volume 7: Violin- and cello-sonatas (8LPs)

  • Volume 8: Works for piano (14LPs) 

  • Volume 9: The Masses (3LPs)

  • Volume 10: Fidelio (3LPs)

  • Volume 11: Music for the stage (3LPs)

  • Volume 12: Songs and other vocal works (7LPs)


  • Condition Boxes and Booklets: VG+. Principally all boxes are in excellent shape, but pre-owner attatched a small sticker with a number

           to the spine with scotch tape that he glued about 10cm to both sides. I could remove almost all of that, but there's some shadowing visible from

          where the scotch tape was attached. Check picture no.3 to see what I mean.

  • Condition Vinyl: NM.  I would guess that more than 90% has never been played. All discs are in pristine, like new condition.

- I use sturdy cardboard-boxes and cardboard-dividers, both specifically designed for the safe shipping of vinyl records.

- Most LPs receive new antistatic innersleeves (in addition to the original ones, which of course are also provided). I, however, don't add new sleeves, if the original ones seem fitting.

A note about my record-grading:

I usually only visually grade the LPs under strong light and I only playgrade them ( i.e. the portions that seem to have signs of usage), if I can't be sure of their actual condition.
If records show stronger signs of soiling I'll professionally clean them (Okki Nokki RCM), but I'm not doing this if it's obviously only dust, as I know that collectors usually prefer their
very own way of record-cleaning.

My goal is to always decribe the records appropriately and I will name every visible and/or audible defect in my detailed description. If regardless of my precautions
you should ever be dissatisfied with the condition of a record, please contact me before leaving negative or neutral feedback to give me the chance to resolve your query.
I'm confident, however, that this will hardly ever be the case. I've been selling records for many years now and so far complaints fortunately have been the utter exception!
