Description
Very elusive in this earliest pressing and lovely condition, this is a flawless copy of German DGG SLPM 136019, part of the very first stereo releases for DGG in '58/'59. The disc is a thick pancake "Alle Hersteller," and the sewn gatefold cover, dated 1/1959, has "STEREO" in thin letters, a red stereo sticker, with ads for the other initial DGG stereo releases on the back. Eugen Jochum conducts the Bavarian Radio Symphony and the Berlin Philharmonic.
This record was auditioned with a Goldring 1042 cartridge, Music Hall TT, Densen amplification and Epos speakers. The thick disc looks glossy and superb, and plays quietly and perfectly: NM. The cover looks near-new, also NM.
This is a true collector's copy of this earliest stereo DGG--you are unlikely to find better.
