DGG SLPM 138 657 ED1 Tchaikovsky Symphony 4 Leningrad Philharmonic Jewgenij Mravinsky German tulip label alle hersteller pancake pressing
Original Cover
-
For 60 years, this has been the (almost) definitive recording. Recorded in London in 1960 whilst on Tour, the Leningrad Philharmonic conducted by Jewgenij Mravinsky perform the Tchaikovsky “Symphony No. 4”. A German first edition stereo pressing on the Deutsche Grammophon Label (SLPM 138 657), the record labels have a tulip border and logo, with “alle hersteller” at 2 o’clock and this is a pancake pressing. The record is of excellent appearance and plays and sounds superb with a minimum of surface noise. The Original cover (later changed) has a slight ring and small creases, but is in very good condition and there is a small red stereo box in addition to a larger Stereo Compatible sticker. The original inner bag is excellent.
