Description

DIANE RAY
The Exciting Years (1964)

Diane was another one of the young teener singers signed up by Mercury Records in the wake of the hit 45s by Lesley Gore. She was a pert, 17-year-old teenager from Gastonia, North Carolina and was a sprightly five foot four with blue eyes and blonde hair. Perfect teen singer fare.

In August of 1963 she had her one-and-only-hit single with "Please Don't Talk To The Lifeguard" which made it up to #31 in the nation's charts. She would cut five singles for Mercury in 1963-64 and all ten sides are included on this album.

This was her only album, and this is a STEREO ORIGINAL pressing, quite rare today.
