Comment: now 36 years old and still in mint condition. Both tracks do not appear on their first LP. The A-sider is a fantastic cover version of this all-time classic. To add to the appeal of this outstanding item is the ORIGINAL (not photocopy) advert. This advert is in tip-top condition and is taken from an old NME-magazine from the same year. There is ‘New Musical Express December 9th, 1978‘ printed on the advert (see second scan). This beauty was released in white and in black vinyl. Both pressings are original ones. This is the black vinyl issue. As additional, here is the comment from the wonderful FLEX (US Hardcore/Punk Discography):
· Two cover versions that did not end up on the Shrinking Dickies LP (the Xmas carol and the Simon & Garfunkel hit), great frantic Dickies pop punk. [9]
· Zwei non-LP-Coverversionen, “Silent Night” und eine schöne Version von Simon & Garfunkels Schmachtfetzen (von wegen “Silence”…) im knalligen Dickies-Sound. Schöne Platte.

Mailing / Versand: alle Platten werden in einer neutralen weißen 7“ Hülle außerhalb des Plattencovers verschickt, um Beschädigungen am Originalcover zu vermeiden (all records will be sent in plain white 7“ sleeves outside of the picture sleeves to avoid any seam splits). Ebenso werden alle Platten entsprechend stabil in speziellen Schallplatten-Versandkartons mit zwei dicken Pappkartons verpackt (all records will be shipped in special record mailers, two cardboard paddings (the best) will be used to avoid bending).
