From their only album The Agony & Extasy, Philly troupe The Diddys - led by Hammond doyen Charles England - took soul to some far-out places in 1977. "Intergalactic Love Song" is a fine example of their star-slurping skills. The original has a much more prominent vocal position, leaving the outer-planetary textures to form a clear-but-subtle bed while the alternate version has more of a persistent groove where the organs get a chance to really take off.
