The Dio "Holy Diver" LP from 1983, released by Warner Bros. Records, is a iconic piece of music history. This first pressing, first edition vinyl record, featuring the excellent condition sleeve and record grading of EX, showcases Dio's powerful blend of heavy metal and rock. The 12" black vinyl insert, with its early 1980s era charm, is a must-have for any collector or fan of classic rock music.
Dio’s 1983 debut is an immaculate marriage of operatic vocals, fantasy storytelling, and NWOBHM-style energy. Fresh off stints with Rainbow and Black Sabbath, he carries over his obsession with the eternal struggle between good and evil. As “Caught in the Middle” implies, it’s a struggle from which the vocal powerhouse can never escape. And while guitarist Vivian Campbell was still an up-and-comer at the time, he shreds all over the album, especially on the smoking “Don’t Talk to Strangers.”
I played this on my Rega turntable to check it and it plays perfectly with excellent fidelity and negligible surface noise. No visible scratches.
