Description

This is a fine U.S. pressing copy of the debut LP by the Dirty Blues Band, originally released in 1967.  The front cover art notwithstanding, the group played electric blues in the vein of the Butterfield Blues Band.  They serve up mostly covers on their debut ("Born Under a Bad Sign," "Spoonful," "Hound Dog," etc.), but lead singer Rod Piazza contributes a few original songs.  (Piazza went on to form the group Bacon Fat, and in the early 1980s formed the longstanding blues group the Mighty Flyers.)  The group's debut also featured steel guitarist Glen Ross Campbell, best remembered for his role in early psych outfit the Misunderstood ("Children of the Sun"), and in the British group Juicy Lucy.  This copy is from either the original pressing or an early (late 1960s-early 1970s) reissue.  (Discogs gives only a pressing with the light blue Bluesway label as an original, but indicates that '68 pressings of the group's second LP came out on both labels, and other '67 LPs on the label did as well.)  The jacket has a small cutout hole, corner wear, and mostly light ring and seam wear (EX).  The disc has some hairline scrapes and light scuffing, and plays with some light surface noise -- EX(-).  The record comes with the original label inner sleeve.

I am in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.

If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
