FOR SALE: A limited edition (2,500 made), record store day 2016 release of early Disney animation music  DISNEY SILLY SYMPHONY COLLECTION: "THE SKELTON DANCE"/ "THREE LITTLE PIGS" 10" RECORD
DETAILS: -Only 2,500 made! This very special 10" vinyl pressing of Disneyland Records' "The Skeleton Dance"/"Three Little Pigs" soundtrack was released in select record stores, in limited quantities, on April 16th, 2016 (record store day). Features "The Skeleton Dance" on the A side and "Three Little Pigs" on the B side - two of the most popular and most revered films of the Silly Symphony collection.
-"The Skeleton Dance" animated short film, the first in the Silly Symphony series, was produced and directed by Walt Disney and animated by Ub Iwerks.  In the black and white cartoon four skeletons dance and make music in a graveyard until sunrise. The music is based upon a foxtrot set in a minor key with an adaptation of Evard Grieg’s, "The March of the Trolls" included in part of the song. -"Three Little Pigs" animated short film, winner of the 1934 Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film, was directed by Burt Gillett and produced by Walt Disney.  In the color cartoon Practical Pig, Fiddler Pig and Fifer Pig build houses with bricks, sticks and straw respectively. While Fiddler and Fifer finish their easy construction they sing, "Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?". This original song, composed by Frank Churchill, was a best selling single that became an anthem for The Great Depression.
Label: Walt Disney Record Company/ Disneyland Records Format: 10 inch vinyl Country: US Released: 2016 (RSD exclusive) Catalog #: Fr-15463 Genre: Soundtrack/Score, Children's, Animation/Cartoon
Condition: Like-new, unplayed.  The record has not been played so it is in excellent/mint condition. The record does not come shrink wrapped but rather it is simply put in a sleeve, jacket, and clear sleeve like some 7" releases (this is how it was sold in stores). A second clear sleeve was provided by Amoeba. Since the record isn't sealed we went ahead and took it out, so that photos could be taken for this listing, and noticed some shelf wear on the inner sleeve. On one side of the inner sleeve is some seam wear/a small hole and at the bottom edge is a crease. We believe most of the copies of this record acquired similar shelf wear because they were sold unwrapped. Please see photos.
