The Districts are a youthful troupe from Lititz in Pennsylvania, and both of these factors make their mark in their music, which combines gutsy blue-collar rock 'n' roll with country and folk, yet is characterised by the ennui and frustrations of small-town life as much as it is by early-twenties vim and idealism. A Flourish And A Spoil is their most confident effort to date, inhabiting a charming yet rough-hewn middle-ground between The Replacements and Crazy Horse that boasts the songwriting skills of the former and the rootsy grit of the latter.
