DJ Sammy - Official BPI Music Industry Award

 

This is a genuine BPI British music industry Silver Award for 60,000 sales of the album, ‘Heaven’, and 200,000 sales of the single ‘Heaven’.  It was presented in 2003 to London radio station, Capital.  This award is in a silver metal frame measuring 16x20 inches (41x51cms) and is in very good condition.  The plaques mounted below the CDs include the BPI logo and the following text:

 

To recognise sales in the United Kingdom

of more than 60,000/200,000 copies of the

DJ Sammy

album/single “Heaven” 2003

 

BPI (British Phonographic Industry) awards are the British equivalent of American RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) awards, and are only presented to artists, producers, record companies and others in the music industry that contributed to the success of a record.  This is an official music industry award and should not be confused with any kind of replica or ‘limited edition’ discs that are sold direct to the public.    

 

A very rare piece of dance music memorabilia.
