Description
Up for auction is an autographed test pressing of DOA's "Positively DOA" EP which was originally sent to the band by Jello Biafra at Alternative Tenacles Records in San Francisco. It's inscribed (on the plain white sleeve) by Joey "S" (Sh*thead). The disc itself is unlabeled; it has plain white labels with thin blue lines running across it (see image).
The plain white sleeve appears to have minor yellowing from age (it's nearly 30 years old!) but after I acquired the record I stored the disc itself separately from the sleeve and put the disc into a separate generic sleeve to preserve the condition of the autograph. It's been stored in a plastic sleeve ever since I got it. The disc itself is in NM/M condition; I've only played it twice - once when I got it (to tape it) and again to verify the contents when I set it aside to list here for auction.
What is a "test pressing"? When a record gets made, a few copies (usually 5-6 copies) are given to the label by the pressing plant and the label typically sends a couple copies to the band to listen to, to check for defects, volume levels, etc. This is one of the handful of copies of this single that were made for this purpose.
