Description
Thank you for taking the time to check out my auction. Up for bids I have a D.O.A. Live Triumph Of The Ignoroids Record LP. This album is in fine condition. The cover has a split 5" long at the top left coner and does show storage use... probably because of the cheap reused jacket.. The record looks in nice conditon and I do not see any marks that would effect the sound quality. Please ask any questions you may have before you bid and I will get you the information. This is the Super-rare BLUE SECOND PRESSING (censored cover) of Vancouver Punk legends D.O.A.'s EP "Triumph of the Ignoroids " released on Friends Records in 1978 with the rare blue and white cardboard picture sleeve with a censored picture of Margaret Trudeau (wife of then Canada Prime Minister Pierre-Elliot Trudeau) who was shown exposing herself on the first pressing, a censored picture of Rod Stewart and his bandmates (you could see Rod's face on the first pressing, not on this one), the word F**k censored on the cover (not on the first pressing), and the band's copyright info on the back!
This second pressing (as well as the first) also feature these messages etched in the dead wax of the vinyl "The Pointed Sticks are Out of Luck" " and "Cause D.O.A. is The Real Thing" " and number 3462 (only the first two pressings have this number).
Only 1,000 COPIES of this RARE second pressing were ever made.
E.P. was recorded on June 23 1978 at the first Georgia Straight Battle of the Bands, which featured D.O.A. and the Pointed Sticks (D.O.A. won!).
By then, D.O.A. was: Joe S**thead on guitar and vocals, bass player Randy Rampage (who also sang for Canadian speed-metallers Annihilator and who is now back in D.O.A. since 2001) and drummer Chuck Biscuits (who also played for Black Flag, Samhain, Circle Jerks, Social Distortion, Danzig, the Descendents and so many other punk legends!)
Track listing:
1. Nazi Training Camp (about Anita Bryant, who was anti-gay)
2. Want Some Bondage (about Ayatollah Khomeini)
3. Rich B**ch (about Margaret Trudeau), and
4. Let's **ck (a parody of Rod Stewart's rude pick-up songs)
In the dead wax of this record, you can read the following messages: "The Pointed Sticks are "Out of Luck"", "Cause D.O.A.'s "The Real Thing"", "3462 A R" and "3462 B R R", proving it to be an original!
This album was released on the legendary Vancouver Label Friends Records, which was VERY D.I.Y. cause they re-used surplus record jackets they obtained from other record labels. They printed over the original jackets with black ink, turned them inside out and pasted their covers on the other side. It was so neatly done, most people didn’t know that!
This second pressing of 1,000 with a white and blue sleeve has Margaret covered up (fear of a lawsuit) and D.O.A. sold them on tour in the midwest, on the east coast and in Canada.
