LP : Don Cherry & Latif Khan ?– Music / Sangam

Original French pressing from 1982 on EUROPA RECORDS, JP 2009. Recorded At Studio Davout, Paris, France, June 1978, released for the first time 4 years after the recording took place. Maybe the music was a little too far out back in 1978, 4 years later the first 2 CODONA LPs had already been released and the time was probably more right for this unique melting of classical Indian tabla-drumming, jazz, world-music, progressive NewAge-sounds and more. Don Cherry is ft. on several instruments, sometimes at the same time due to playback/overdubbing. On some tracks he plays more drone-like organ-sounds behind the tabla, on other tracks there are beautiful bamboo-flute melodies or he hums/scatts along with a keyboard-melody and much more. Condition: the record looks mint- in daylight & in normal artificial light, it looks mint-- to ex++ under a very strong halogen lamp (very few papersleeve-lines). It plays in mint- all of the time.

The cover shows light shelfwear only, spine and bottom-seam are intact and without any rub, the top-seam has a burst ( but no split ! ) in the middle on a length of ca. 1 inch and is otherwise intact and without rub, front & back are real fine, on the front-photo there's a part with a brighter black colour parallel to the bottomseam: this is only a light-reflection, not some kind of wear or discolouration; overall ex--/vg++.

Zustand: die LP sieht bei Tageslicht & unter einer normalen Lampe mint- aus, unter einer sehr hellen Halogenlampe sieht sie mint-- bis ex++ aus ( einige wenige Papierhüllen-Lines). Sie spielt durchgehend in mint-.

Das Cover hat nur leichte Lagerspuren, untere und seitliche Kante sind intakt und ohne Abrieb, die obere Kante ist in der Mitte auf einer Länge von ca. 2,5 cm aufgeplatzt ( ein oberflächlicher Burst und kein durchgehender Split ) ist ansonsten aber intakt und ohne Abrieb, Vorder- & Rückseite sind schön erhalten, das Front-Foto hat einen Teilbereich parallel zur unteren Kante mit etwas hellerer schwarzer Farbe: dies ist ein Lichtreflex, keine Verfärbung oder Abnutzung; insgesamt in ex--/vg++.

Alle Platten wurden professionell gereinigt, entweder von mir (Hannl Mikro) oder von den Vorbesitzern (Okki Nokki, Loricraft o.Ä.). Anschließend wurden sie nur wenige Male abgespielt bzw. nur einmal von mir zum Bewerten angehört (komplett oder in Ausschnitten). Optische Bewertung erfolgt in Tageslicht, in normalen Kunstlicht & unter einer sehr hellen Halogenlampe. Platten kommen mit neuer hochwertiger Innenhülle & in einer Schutzhülle. Bitte beachten: auch prof. gereinigte Platten können einige Staubpartikel haben; “eingefangen” während optischer & akkustischer Bewertung, Fotografieren oder den wenigen Abspielungen der Vorbesitzer.

Grading & Cleaning:

• all records have been cleaned on a professional record cleaning machine, either by me (Hannl Mikro) or by the pre-owners (Okki Nokki, Loricraft or the like). After cleaning the records have been played just a few times (or only once by me for playgrading)

• I playgrade each record (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, high-end Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN/ EMT TU-3 SFL (please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment)

• I also visually grade cleaned records in daylight, in normal artificial light & under a strong halogen lamp

• only an unplayed record is mint, my highest grading for a used record is mint- . My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg

• cleaned records are stored in a new pro innersleeve and they are placed in a PVC protection-sleeve

• pl. note: even pro cleaned records may have received some dust particles during visual-/play-grading, photographing or few pre-owner playbacks
