Description

Here is a very obscure, unknown 7" from a band called Don Juan. This was their first (and only?) release, called simply "Don Juan's First", and was self-released in 1979 on Suppressed Records. It was released in a super-cheap paper sleeve that actually warns collectors not to buy more than two copies of the record because it's a very limited pressing and they wanted the record as well-distributed as possible. Well, I suppose you don't need to worry about that since I only have one copy available. The record has a "soft" side called "Love Sweet Love" with a nice 60s-influenced pop song, but what's really great is the "hard" side, which is a great riff-heavy garagey track called "Shun the Dead" that clocks in at less than 2 minutes and straddles a fine line between punk and powerpop (powerpunk?). It's a pretty killer song, and one of the few great "undeiscovered" punk/powerpop gems out there. This is a wonderful DIY record that I've never seen before, and which will probably not be available again for quite a long time. The paper sleeve is VG with ring wear. The vinyl is VG. It looks fine except for a small radial dent (perhaps made during pressing - it looks almost like a crack in the wax that was sealed over) that is visible on both sides of the record. It has never affected play when I've played it, and if you win and it causes any problems, please let me know!

I have LOTS and LOTS more records to come! Buy now, buy next week, and the week after that, and after that, and then wait a week, and then buy more!!!

I can ship multiple items at once, of course (for just a little bit more per each additional item). And I can wait to ship items if there are more items you're interested in bidding on! If you win multiple items, please wait for me to send the invoice (so you don't pay too much for shipping).

All records are shipped in secure carboard packages, are well-padded, and ship with the records outside of the sleeves and stored in a plastic outer sleeve to ensure safe delivery in the same condition in which they leave my house.
