We are thrilled and honoured to be offering for sale a number of items from the late Stan Tracey's own personal collection on behalf of his son Clark Tracey. This includes many extremely rare albums, some purchased by Stan during his time in New York, plus test pressings and other gems collected over his lifetime as a musician and composer.
This is a super rare Factory Sample 1st press Stereo copy of Don Rendell & Ian Carr - Live from the very collectable Columbia Lansdowne Series.
The record has been deep cleaned in our Degritter cleaner and has come up spotless with a very glossy sheen ( see photos). There are some light scuffs, mostly on Side 2, but no feelable damage, and nothing that impairs the wonderful listening experience. The labels and spindle holes are clean and the "Factory Sample - Not For Sale" sticker is on the S2 label.
Playback reveals what a tour de force the recording is! The stereo separation, dynamics, imaging and low frequency are all first class. No issues whatsoever - the vinyl plays through beautifully.
The flipback laminate outer sleeve is strong with no splits or tears. Mild discolouration and creasing, a little light foxing, but overall clean and in good shape.
The original EMI printed inner sleeve is also present, however, we have decanted the record into a brand new poly lined inner sleeve to keep it pristine after cleaning - you will receive both.
A very rare opportunity to own a great example of the 1960s English Jazz scene.
The record will be sent separated out in an archival outer sleeve to prevent transit splits.
