Description
This is the ORIGINAL Satellite S-101 recording, "Boppin' High School Baby" by rockabilly great, Don Willis.
The overall condition of the record is VG+ to VG++ with only slight surface marks on both sides that do NOT affect play. There is one particular noticeable small surface mark (see picture), which cannot be felt, on the A Side. This record plays and sounds GREAT!
" 45 - D- 142 " in the dead wax. (see picture)
The label is in VG+ to VG++ condition with the only flaw being the number "159" written on both sides in black magic marker. (see pictures) Even though the label is very clear, intact, and otherwise clean, it could be "whiter" with a nice cleaning. I was told that it would not be difficult to clean the label, but because I am not a pro at this, I will leave that to the buyer's discretion!
As a side note, I got this record from a private collection that once belonged to another famous rockabilly artist. I will probably be selling more records from this collection at a later date.
I accept BidPay, Cashier's Check or Money Order only. PLEASE NOTE: I CANNOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARD payments! I ship Media Mail rates in the US, unless otherwise requested. I will ship international according to the buyer's preference. INSURANCE IS REQUIRED on this item. I ship immediately upon receipt of payment.
For those looking for an exceptional copy of this record -- here it is!
Thank you for your interest and good luck with your bid.
On Feb-26-05 at 13:17:59 PST, seller added the following information: PLEASE NOTE:The record (label in particular) is much nicer than the pictures show. While the label DOES have surface dirt (it was in a chest for over 40 years!), it is the kind that can be easily washed off to where the label would look BRAND NEW. While this is a simple cleaning, I have been told that if not carefully cleaned, this label could have the blue ink bleed. As I stated in the description, I am not a pro in cleaning these labels and did not want to risk doing it wrong. In zooming in with the close-ups, the camera seemed to capture and enhance the "dirty" look and does not adequately represent the overall nice condition of this record. Please contact me, if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you.
