This is a Blue Note (47 west 63rd NYC) stereo copy of the classic Donald Byrd Lp "FUEGO", Blue Note BST 84026. Sidemen are JACKIE McLEAN, DUKE PEARSON, DOUG WATKINS & LEX HUMPHRIES. RVG and the ear are in side 1 trailoff. RVG and the ear are in side 2 trailoff.
Some of the best recorded music of the late fifties happened, when Donald Byrd and Jackie McLean were playing together. They really formed a great team, each of them plays as a sideman on the other one's recording dates, so imagine, if you might do a blindfold-test, it would be quite hard to guess, who of them is the leader. Donald Byrd wrote beautiful swinging tunes for this album and everybody plays great, so hard-bop fans will really enjoy that.
