Description
This is an auction for one of the rarest Irish traditional music albums ever released, which has been long out of print. Eponymously entitled "Donncha O Briain", this features renowned whistle player Donncha O Briain and was released on the Gael-Linn label solely in Ireland in 1979, but was purchased in London. My understanding is that not many copies were pressed of this album, so this is the original pressing. Donncha sadly passed away in 1990 at the age of 30, and this is the only album that he ever released. With sleeve notes by the esteemed Paddy Glackin, the record is in M- (mint minus) condition, with the sleeve being in EX condition (the back sleeve also has a small sticker on it in the bottom right hand corner with details of the company Celtic Music who imported the release to the UK in extremely small quantities - this sticker does not obscure any text or photos on the sleeve).
