Very Near Mint Stunning Top Audio on BOTH sides!
Very scarce album to find limited UK Red Elektra originals!
Very Rare Original UK prog Rock Psych blues double Album!!
Another from my personal collection! I purchased this album from new over 43 years ago back in 1970 and originally only ever played this a handfull of times and then recorded this to tape, the album was then stored in a case laying dormant with the vinyl seperated from the cover for protection the way that I have always stored my records. Another original, collectable album to find especiall the UK originals on the red Electra labels! The condition of this album on offer is superb throughout and has obviously stood the test of time! I have played the vinyl prior to this listing through out at very loud volume on a top system and the quality is stunning cristal clear and very vibrant so hard to find like this believe me. Any static, heard was very minimal indeed I would grade the audio at least excellent plus to very near mint on bothe sides. The original early 1st issue MacNeil Press printed unlaminated gatefold cover is also in exceptional condition fot its age minor storage ware only graded at least excellent to excellent plus in my opinion. UK originals on the Red Electra labels are very scarce indeed. The audio was almost as good as it gets throughout unbeleivable seperation and a lovely deep bassey feel through out,, graded near mint in my opinion!
Morrison Hotel (sometimes referred to as Hard Rock Café from the title of the first side of the LP, whose second side is titled Morrison Hotel) is The Doors' fifth album.
It was released in 1970. After their experimental work The Soft Parade was not as well-received as anticipated, the group went back to basics and back to their roots.
On this album, there is a slight steer toward blues, which would be fully explored by the band on their next album, L.A. Woman. The strategy worked; even though no major hit singles were drawn from the album, Morrison Hotel reestablished The Doors as favorites of the critics, peaking at #4 on the US album chart, and when they followed with L.A. Woman the next year, they were rewarded with two more US Top 20 hits.
The album also became the band's highest charting studio album in the UK, where it peaked at #12. Additional musicians include G. Puglese (a.k.a. John Sebastian) on harmonica and Lonnie Mack on bass. The cover photo was taken at the actual Morrison Hotel located at 1246 South Hope Street in Los Angeles. The band asked the owners if they could photograph the hotel and they declined, so the band went inside when nobody was looking and took the photograph.
The rear cover features a photograph of the Hard Rock Café on 300 East 5th Street, Los Angeles.[2] The founders of the later and otherwise unrelated Hard Rock Cafe chain used the name, having seen it on the Doors' album. The original cafe is no longer open for business.

The Vinyl
On initial inspection the vinyl looks superb, awesome super original glossy sheen from new still retained a beautiful looking vinyl! Initially I can hardly see a blemish at all, ! In strong light only could possibly very few surface marks be seen (mainly sleeve removal only type grazes but no nasty needle audio sounding marks that would cause any loud clicks or pops)(note, this had only been played a handful of times when I originally purchased this record and recorded to tape then stored in a case for over 44 years)
The Audio
I have played this through track for track on a top system at very loud volume two times prior to this listing at very loud volume on a top system!
The audio is awesome Top sounding on all frequencies! Super Super seperation on both sides! Cristal clear and vibrant with (no) signs of distortion or that this has been overplayed at all Please note! Quite amaizingly I never heard any major nasty interfearance at all (no) distortion (no) nasty background static crackle from being over played. Please note! Amaizingly any isolated static is barely noticed at all during the audio play. no nasty loud clicks or pops! I would class myself as highly critical, please look at my completed listings and you will see that I normally get it right. The audio is quite exceptional indeed considering there are many quiet passages during the play of this album ! THIS IS EXCEPTIONAL AUDIO! Audio must be at least Excellent plus to very near mint in my opinion! I dought that it will be easy to find a better sounding original copy!
Absolutely superbe!!A very playable vinyl Please note that I play test these vinyls at very loud volume and i would class myself as extremely critical! (no) clicks or pops!
Please note! It is easy to be critical about these early 70s pressings especially the fact that there are so many many quiet tracks!,, Please allow for some light static in run offs that may be heard but nothing and (not) consistant throughout the audio that I heard at all! , Although I never heard any problems ,Please remember that this is a 40 year old vinyl that would have originally been played on a 40 year old system!
A constant clean is recommended before each play. This vinyl has been stored in a case for at least 30 years or more laying dormant! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static crackle\ticks and constant cleaning reduces this!!
The labels
These feature the original Red Elektra labels in superbe condition! Amaizingly I find it difficult to see no more than a handful of spider marks on each side even when angled in strong light.(This has barely ever been played no more than a handful times of times. unbeleivable to find like this) This certainly has not been overplayed! Little if (no) spindleware the hole is perfectly round.
The Record Sleeve
This is a plain white paper sleeve slight creasings with age only!
The Cover
This is the original early very fragile un-laminated MacNeil Press printed gatefold cover! (rarely seen in decent condition! (no) nasty splits , or tares! There is some very light storageware only to mention If scrutinised on the front when angled to the light I can see very light impressions of where some one has leant on the cover whilst writing at some point but very light and not noticed unless looked for in my opinion.. All writing is legable at the spine ! Please note! This features the original fragile flimsy type cover that is often seen in a terrible state, (Very hard to keep in good condition) Any storage ware/markings/ring ware or rubbing at the edges you would have to look for to notice any and they are very light noticed only. This must be at least Excellent if not better in my opinion! in my opinion very hard to find like this!
