ITEM:    " The Jazz Harpist " LP, by Dorothy Ashby.  Original Deep Groove green label, silver print Regent Pressing - not the newer re-issue.  Catalog number MG-6039. Featuring Frank Wess - Flute; Wendell Marshall - Bass; Eddie Jones - Bass; Ed Thigpen - Drums. Engineered by Rudy Van Gelder.

COMMENTS / CONDITION: This LP came from a private collection. It is not a beat-up LP bought at a yard sale. The record was visually graded, and was spot checked  test played. Please see the attached pictures for the Track Listings.

Grading is according to Goldmine Standards. If you are not familiar with that system, please go to the Goldmine web site and read the grading details BEFORE YOU BID.

Ashby's name is incorrectly spelled as "Ashbey" on both labels.  

Vinyl is in VG+ Condition, retaining much of the original glossy luster. A close inspection shows a few wispy scuffs/hairlines that are cosmetic, and do not interfere with the listening experience. There are no warps, cracks, chips, deep scratches, or groove wear. On my older system, all short segments that were spot checked played with crisp, clean sound quality.  No harsh surface noise, skips or groove lock (repeats). 

NOTE: Sound quality will vary from system to system. The above comments are included strictly as reference, and are not a statement as to the experience you may have with your equipment.

Deep Groove labels are in very good condition with no peeling edges, rips, or writing. Center hole remains perfectly round with no signs of repeated playing.

The cover is in strong VG or better condition, with minor edge/corner wear, rub wear, and light moisture spots along the edge of the back cover. Top seam has a clean 4 inch split at the opening edge. There are no rips, mildew spots, or writing. Cover colors remain crisp and glossy, with no fading. No labels, stickers, or price tags. Spine is firm and straight. This is not a cut-out -   there are no punch holes, notches, or clipped corners.

Inner sleeve is a standard white paper item.

I have not tried to clean the vinyl or the labels. Serious collectors usually have their own preferred methods they use to care for their records.
