DOVERS - She's Gone b/w What Am I Going To Do Miramar 118
Super condition VG++, plays perfectly.
Regarding this classic example of circa 1965 Southern California (Santa Barbara, to be precise) folk rock perfection, what can be said? Well, the good folks at G45 had a few words, which I will shamelessly crib for the purpose of further illumination, (as though any were necessary) of this disc.

4 Dovers records appeared in quick succession on the Miramar label. If you try hard enough, or spend money enough, you WILL be able to get the other 3 for your collection. But for some reason, this baby is "extinct", to borrow a phrase. Exactly how this happens when the record received airplay and was reportedly a minor hit in the Los Angeles area, late 1965, we have no idea. We'll take a stab and estimate 7 or 8 copies, 2 of them near mint but most other in poor condition, survive.
Well, it would appear that this well intentioned estimate may have been a bit pessimistic, though this is certainly the scarcest of the bands 4 releases. What elevates this particular copy is the superb condition it is in, as a listen to the accompanying sound clip should reveal. Near mint would be an apt characterization of this copies condition, clean, bright & glossy vinyl, with nary a trace of wear or any sort of distress. Simply put, this is an archive condition keeper.
The power of this recording may come across in the accompanying sound file, suffice to say this is a very powerfully recorded 45.
The flip is in similarly excellent condition.
Labels are in fine condition, it appears Josie K. was determined to avoid any questions regarding ownership, as the accompanying photo's should reveal.
I've no idea when another copy of this record has been offered for sale on ebay previously, suffice to say this auction presents a rare chance to acquire a record that has few peers in the garage flavored, Melodic Pop, Folk Jangler, call it what you may, whatever... categories.
It's simply one of the great records of the era, offered here in superb condition. At a start price more than just a bit below what I paid for it a number of years back. Suffice to say that THAT price commenced with a 2, followed by a further 3 digits, none of which was a 0, then a bit of this--> .00
