The Down Home Jazz Band covers the 1940s Yerba Buena (founded by Lu Watters) which was dedicated to an early, even primitive, jazz style rejecting the Hit Parade of the day for a repertoire from the first quarter of the 20th century.  Watters (and others) set about reviving hundreds of long forgotten blues, ballads, early jazz and Tin Pan Alley tunes.
