Rivalling luminary R'n B bands The Yardbirds, Graham Bond Organization, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and so many many other young uprising groups in 1964 were The DOWNLINERS SECT. A youthful and ebullient lot, they went on to issue around 8 singles more, and 3 original albums in the 60's.
In their first recordings for their growing fanbase, this EP was pressed on a private lable. To get around the tax and license laws in the UK, they had to pay stamps for each copy, and these are still nicely attached to one side lable.....or else they would have been restricted to a maximum pressing run of 99 copies only (as were The Bo Street Runners for their obscure self-made EP)
4 cool tracks here that represented the dedicated blues beat they played at their inception. A VERY nice example, and difficult to imagine in much better condition than this stunning example!

CONDITION:
The vinyl is in GLORIOUS EX+ condition, and I grade properly so I mean with NO scratches and barely the lightest sign of use.
Lables are TOP NOTCH, clean matt picture lables with just one small tear on the stamp side (one previously removed perhaps)
Original EP picture cover, nice on both faces but seams have separated and been sellotaped in the past.
A VERY decent copy of this highly regarded collectible gem!
