Description
This is The Downliners Sect with their original 1964 vinyl album "The Sect". This a UK 1st press issue with E J Day flipback, front laminated sleeve. Released on the Columbia label in mono and with matrices:
XAX 2729-1N
XAX 2730-1N
The vinyl itself is in VG- condition due to there being lots of hairlines and light scratches/marks from previous play. These cause crackle and pops between tracks and quieter moments. However, the sound quality is very good, maybe due to the quality of Columbia vinyl, and comes through clearly and pleasantly without any jumps or skips. There are a few light clicks on side 1 at the beginning of track 6 but again, this isn't overbearing and doesn't overly affect listening quality. Labels have some wear around the spindle holes and there are spindle trails from use.
Outer picture sleeve is in VGC. There is no major damage. There are creases and corner and edge scuffing from use and wear. Laminate is intact. There is writing in pen (2 names) on the reverse of the album. Otherwise, strong and intact and holds the record securely.
Complete with original 'Emitex' advised poly lined inner.
I grade all of my records according to The Record Collector Magazines grading system.
I always test play my records on a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Turntable with Ortofon cartridge stylus unless they are in near mint/ mint condition and appear unplayed but the description will state this. I don't sell records with deep scratches or marks that affect the sound quality and enjoyment.
All of our Vinyl is professionally cleaned using a Pro-Ject VC-S record cleaning machine.
The vinyl is then packaged in a protective anti static sleeve, the whole album placed into a protective outer plastic sleeve and then posted in a robust top of the range custom cardboard record mailer.
