Description

You won't find this record again. It's on the UK Vertigo 'swirl' label by Dr. Z entitled 'Three Parts To My Soul'.

It's a stereo recording and the catalogue number is 6360 048. It was released originally in 1971. It is a very rare record. However, this one is not in great condition.

OUTER SLEEVE - The sleeve is the original fold-out type. The sleeve shows definite wear and creasing on the front and back.. The edges and the spine are worn and have been filled in with black marker pen. The wording along the spine is partially obscured. There is also a 100mm (4 inch) horizontal tear on the front right hand fold out 'gate'. This has been repaired with clear adhesive tape but is still visible.. In view of these blemishes I've graded the sleeve as VG-.

INNER BAG - The inner bag is a standard polythene-lined Vertigo type with the expanding swirl logo on both sides. On one side in the bottom left hand corner it states 'PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS... ETC British Patent No. 800518 & 978939 - MADE IN ENGLAND - 5 0671'. This wording is partially obscured through wear. The condition of the inner bag is VG because there is also some discolouration on either side and there is a split down one side which has been repaired.

RECORD - The record looks clean with some surface marks but it's obviously been played a good number of times. It plays through very well on both sides with no jumps but there is very significant surface noise throughout and there are some definite pops and clicks on both sides. These blemishes need to be emphasised because this record is by no means perfect. The winner of this auction should expect to have to put up with the surface noise although I guess a professional cleaning job would improve the quality of the reord.

LABELS - The labels feature - side one - the original Vertigo black and white swirl logo - side two - the smaller black and white swirl logo with the track listings for side one and side two. Underneath the catalogue number on the left side of the label there is a smaller number (6360 048 2). All songs are produced by Keith Keyes and it states that the Executive Producer is Patrick Campbell-Lyons of Nirvana fame. The Recording engineer was Richard Digby Smith and his Assistant was Trevor Lucas. The labels are both in fine condition with very minor spindle marks. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are as follows - side one - 6360048 1Y// 1  11  2 - side two - 6360048 2Y//1  11  2. I've graded the record as VG- which I believe is very fair. I try to grade everything very conservatively and I believe that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed. I guarantee everything I sell. After all, this is a chance to have the original Dr. Z in your collection. I understand that only 80 copies of the original are known to exist - this might be your only chance to own this record.

THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS ITEM.

TRACK LISTING - SIDE ONE - EVIL WOMAN'S MANLY CHILD, SPIRITUS, MANES ET UMBRA, SUMMER FOR THE ROSE - SIDE TWO - BORN IN ANGER, TOO WELL SATISFIED, IN A TOKEN OF DESPAIR.

BAND MEMBERS - KEITH KEYES, KEYBOARDS, LEAD VOCALS - ROB WATKINS, DRUMS AND PERCUSSION - ROB WATSON, BASS.
