Retreat, UK, 1974

SUPERLATIVE BRITISH progressive rock band consisting of prominent session players including guitarist Phil Palmer (Eric Clapton), vocalist Gordon Neville (Beggars Opera), drummer Jim Toomey (Titus Groan) and bassist Andy Bown (Jonesy). The project was recorded and produced by super sessions guitarist Big Jim Sullivan and Derek Lawrence for his label called Retreat. Lawrence was of course the producer of the first three Deep Purple albums and early Wishbone Ash including the seminal 'Argus' LP. Musically the band occupy a typical early seventies proggy style with the emphasis on actual songs rather than stretched out solos or mindless jamming. 

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Vinyl: Beautiful clean condition. A couple of spindle marks and only extremely faint signs of use. Grades as top MINT-!

Cover: Minor signs of use. Issued in a beautifully designed cover. Sharp corners (a couple are slightly rubbed), one minor ding, no  corner bends, some light ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Displays light storage and handling wear. Grades as Ex
