Description
Up for auction is a rare psychedelic LP by DRAGONFLY released in 1970 on the MEGAPHONE label. There is a lot of psychedelic dreck out there but this is the real deal! This California-based band features a driving, guitar-oriented sound that is the antithesis of the annoying flower-power, hippy-dippy pretentiousness of many groups from this period.
The digipak/gatefold cover shows signs of wear but grades VG+ overall. The outside cover exhibits no seam splits, tears, stains, print loss or external writing. However, there is wear along the seams, particularly on the spine, and a hint of ring wear forming on the top and bottom. Also, there is a light cover crease ¼ inch in from the spine due to occasional overzealous folding of the rather flimsy gatefold. The inside cover has started to yellow and there is some light soiling. The record itself grades VG++. The surface retains its original sheen, but upon close examination under a bright lamp exhibits some light “paper scuffs.” The record plays Near Mint, with only the slightest hint of surface noise during the few quiet passages. I think the winning bidder will be very pleased.
