Two generations of Boston punk collide on the New England Forever EP, with Celtic folk-punk troubadours Dropkick Murphys sharing the split with burgeoning new school hardcore heroes in the making Haywire. Consisting of eight tracks, both bands deliver two new cuts, as well as two collaborative songs, with Haywire delivering the title track while Dropkick Murphys' 'Citizen ICE' is a politically charged, lyrically updated version of their previous track 'Citizen CIA'. Finally, both bands cover each other's songs, with the Murphys belting out Haywire's 'Always By My Side' like it was always theirs, while Haywire nail a rendition of 'The Boys Are Back' with both lilting respect and feral disregard for the Dropkick Murphys original. A split/collaborative EP with some vision and effort put into it. The vision being Boston, essentially.
