The Duals - Stick Shift (Sue LP2002), mono, 1964(?).
Very cool early 60's instrumental surf / RnB / hot rod album. This copy has the way-cool photo of the vintage race cars, which may not be considered to be as rare as the original cartoon cover but let's face it -- it's a much better cover than that crappy old cartoon.
Excellent playing from this Los Angeles duo of Henry Bellinger and Johnny Lageman who were both 19 years old when this was recorded. Great stuff here. Song titles: Stick Shift, Travelin' Guitars, Lover's Satellite (great use of early, primitive electronic effects on this cut), Duel, Cha Cha Guitars, The Duals Blues, Music Appreciation, Beach Party, Runnin' Water, Rollin', Henry's Blues, Johnny's Boogie.
Cover is strong, strong VG+ with the only thing holding it back from near mint status is a tiny bit of flaking on the top spine and a bit of graying from age of the back cover. But in all honesty, this is as nice a copy as you'd expect to find anywhere. Record is near mint, plays great!
