Duncan Browne - Give Me Take You Immediate Record Co.Ltd. IMSP 018.Flip Back cover. White label. UK pressing. Lyric Insert enclosed. The second rarest longplayer on the UK Immediate label after the Billy Nichols album. Duncan Browne's melancholy first album, Give Me, Take You -- released on music impresario Andrew Loog Oldham's Immediate label in 1968 -- is one wonderfully tender album. Many who are discovering it more than 20 years after its original release are comparing its dulcet introspective tone to Nick Drake's albums. It does fall into a similar English folk vein, though Browne's arrangements are, on the whole, more Baroque, giving the album a semi-classical, regal feel. Immediate issued only one single from the album, "On the Bombsite," but it failed to connect with listeners. At the time of its release, Oldham's Immediate was reportedly falling apart. He was in financial ruin and reportedly cut the sessions short to save money.(Allmusic) Shipping costs depends on destination,only registered shipping. Still in the shrink (open) and still contains the Gramaphone Records 4.99 sticker that it had when I purchased it in Greenwich Village back in '71. Contains the lyric insert in beautiful like new condition. I would give the pressing a strong VG++ with some slight surface sounds during the especially quiet parts but all pressings I have heard of this sound like that. The cover I would give a strong VG+ with a quarter of an inch (very slight) opening on the upper right but still in the shrink all these years and only one owner. A very rare opportunity to acquire a rare gem in the IMMEDIATE RECORDS and PSYCH POP Fading Yellow Soft Psych catagories!!!!
