You are bidding here an original copy of the following 7" UK vinyl 45rpm record................
** STAY AWHILE by DUSTY SPRINGFIELD (1964) ***
This record should have fared much, much better in the UK charts than it did (in my view!).
Here we have all the ingedients of a smash hit pop record - the best solo female singer the UK ever produced, the best powerhouse girl backing singers we ever had, a full blown Spectoresque production and, not least a great song. Even better, it's relatively short like a pop record should be and packs its punch in two minutes or so. No matter, just play it again!!
The girl group referred to is of course 'The Breakaways' (Margot Quantrell, Jean Ryder and the late Vicki Haseman (Brown). Don't get me on about them else we'll be here all night!
Great Dusty composition on the 'B' side too ('Something Special')
CONDITION (using the 'Record Collector' grading system) is EXCELLENT - i.e. the record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. I don't have the original Philips cover so will use a new plain white one.
