Daddy Longlegs - Oakdown Farm Vertigo Spiral Rarity 6360068

Disc and Sleeve in Excellent condition!

Welcome to the auction of another rarity from my personal collection

Daddy Longlegs originally formed in 1968 with a line-up of Steve Hayton (guitar/vocals), Cliff Carrison (drums) and Kurt Palomaki (bass/clarinet) in their native America, but moved to England in 1969. They signed to Warner Brothers, recruited vocalist Mo Armstrong, and released the single, "High Again"/"To The Rescue" (WB 8012) and the "Daddy Longlegs" LP (WB 3004).

With both Armstrong and Hayton leaving soon after, Carrison and Palomaki recruited vocalist/pianist Pete Arnesen and guitarist/vocalist Gary "Norton" Holderman and became one of the first American acts to sign to Vertigo Records. The 12-track "Oakdown Farm" LP was released in 1971 (6360 038) and has remained a collectors item ever since.

This was the act's second album and has elements of country music to basic rock styles and is an authentic taste of that relaxed, open feel which is the essence of American rural culture.

In describing this album I will try not to let my enthusiasm about he condition of this album get the better of me as I always endeavour to be ultra-critical in my descriptions of the diosc and sleeve. Please also note that I never grade an album as Mint and only albums which I know to have only been played once at most willl get a Near Mint grading.

The gatefold sleeve is in excellent condition with the faintest signs of wear on a couple of the corners. The spine of the album is completely intact with no deterioration to the details on the spine. The cover is also free of any creasing. There is a very minor mark from a pricing label just above the Vertigo logo on the front right upper corner of the sleeve but it looks as though this should easily clean off with a small dab of furniture polish. Having said that it is almost imperceptible and certainly only noticed under very close scrutiny.

The inner Vertigo spiral poly-lined sleeve is also in excellent condition although there is some very minor dicolouration caused by deterioration of the glue used to adhere the polythene to the paper. The disc itself is clean and almost flawless and both labels have very few almost imperceptible spindle marks.

Overall you will not be disappointed with the condition of this album and I honestly think you will be hard pressed to find a better copy.

I always try to grade my albums very accurately and if anything can be ultra-critical but this is because I want you to know as much information as possible and also to protect my feedback ratings.

Consequently I am prepared to offer a refund (exc P&P) if you feel that I have misrepresented the standard of the disc. I am prepared to post worldwide at cost.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask! Please check my other items for more Daddy Longlegs albums and various other rarities
