Welcome to Monroe Rare Records! Every record I sell comes directly from my father’s collection (Jay Monroe Sr.) My father was obsessed with music from the 50’s and 60’s and was even the lead singer in his own band. He started collecting as a kid then at 17 he worked for Savoy records in Newark NJ sweeping floors. He continued collecting records until his passing at age 74. The collection he left behind is extremely large and very well cared for. I am not a record flipper, I only sell records from my fathers collection and he spent the majority of his life collecting the best records Labels runs were completed (Ace, Aladdin, Brunswick, Checker, Chance, Duke, Excello, Federal, Groove, Hollywood, Imperial, JAX, King, Modern, Meteor, Parrot, Phillips, RCA, RPM, States, Starday, Sun which he was writing a book about as it was one of his favorite labels, and Trumpet etc.) including smaller more obscure labels. He collected Blues, R&B, Doo-Wop, Soul and Rockabilly. Represented are vinyl 45’s shellac with some flexi vinyl 78’s, EP’s and LP’s. Test pressings both released and unreleased will be listed as well. I use the Goldmine grading system with most of the VG+ records being VG++ (M- to most collectors) as I grade conservatively. If a record is listed as M- it will look and play as though it was pressed yesterday. The records I list are all original with matrix #’s provided and a 100% MONEY BACK GUARANTEE! Description: My father wrote “Store Stock” on the sleeve. It’s near immaculate with a very small bubble 3/4 through crossties that might have happened later. It is still very much an E+ record as both side play beautifully even over said tiny bubble. There is some dust on the dead wax of a-side but I have another 30k+ records to go. My father had a much higher price on this record than the stating bid and I see why. From a collector for a collector. Happy Bidding.

NM/M- As new, I rarely use this grade for 50+ year old records.

E+. A collector record with full blazing gloss and perfect labels.

E. A collector record with slight inaudible marks or minor label wear. Plays perfectly

E- A clean record with some scuffs and/or label defects. Still plays perfectly/

V+. A regular 78 you will find in most collections. Plays well with scuffs but no scratches.

V. Scuffs all around, plays with minor noise but still enjoyable and w/o skips

V- I don’t sell V- records.
