Description

Columbia record 14290-D by Dallas String Band.  One side is Dallas Rag, the other is Sweet Mama Blues.  Record plays through without skipping, but is worn and noisy.  See pictures.  This is a rare record.  A copy in better condition recently sold at auction for over four hundred dollars.  The Dallas String Band was an African American group and may have been the only black group playing country type  string music in America at the time of the recording.  Dallas Rag is a mandolin piece in Bill Monroe style, to my ear.  The flip side is Sweet mama Blues and is definitely African American.  A museum piece and cultural artifact for sure.  Careful shipping.
