Over the next several months we have the pleasure of listing a spectacular vinyl collection of over 6000 LP's. This collection consisting of mostly Jazz but also Blues, Folk ,Rock, Soundtracks and Classical was kept in amazing condition. Most of the records were played once, transferred to tape for listening and then stored away in cliplock sealed bags in specially made cupboards. The overall condition of this collection is sublime to say the least and whatever items I list as Near Mint you can be assured that it was probaly only ever played once!! Over the last few weeks you may have noticed some of the lovely jazz & rock titles I have listed, these are just the tip of the iceberg here. I hope you enjoy seeing these listings as much as I have in offering them.
The Daly-Wilson Big Band existed from 1969-1983, formed by trombonist Ed Wilson and drummer Warren Daley. They went broke soon after this album was made, but were rescued by sponsorship from the Benson and Hedges cigarette company in 1973 so this fiery album was also their last smoke-free one (I'm so sorry). They went on to make another three or four albums, adorned with B&H logos, that are not as fantastic as this one.If you’re digging for albums by the Daly Wilson Big Band, then this is the one you need to look out for. Its their best LP and unfortunately the hardest one to find. Recorded during the early 70’s, the album features the talented Kerrie Biddell, who is backed by the Daly Wilson Big Band. The stand out tracks are “Limp Dropper”, A moody funk instrumental which kicks off the album. It’s followed by “Dirty feet” which has a fat little drum break (sampled by Mobb Deep for Shook ones part II). “In Necessity” is another funky cut featuring the vocals of Kerrie Biddell and so too is “Today".
Tracks: Limp dropper/ Dirty feet/ City sounds/ Col's dilema/ In necessity/ Today/ Three for all/ On my own/ Do me a good turn.
There are a few very light spindle marks on labels. Record is stunning and in Near Mint condition. Cover has a very light crease marke on lower half of spine and is in Excellent condition
