Description
This is an incredible original UK pressing of the debut album by The Damned titled Damned Damned Damned released in 1977 on Stiff Records. The matt sleeve is one of the first copies with the mis-pressed originals with the Eddie & The Hot Rods photo on the rear (later replaced by The Damned in live action) along with the Erratum sticker. The thing is when I bought this at the time I carefully cut around the red sticker on the front out and kept it inside the sleeve and then shortly afterwards bought the same album with the fully laminated sleeve with the correct picture and I have kept them both for nearly 50 years. The laminate I put on this copy was added so I could put the sticker inside the front of the cover to ,ake it look good but I hardly ever played this copy, I just played my other one, to death! Please bear this in mind if you choose to bid. So it's not the original cellophane cover over the sleeve but I kinda liked the idea of keeping the original sticker (I'm glad I did) and of course it has the correct paper inner sleeve, the mis-pressed matt sleeve and the disc with correct matrix run-outs. The record itself is easily EX+ and I would grade the sleeve strong EX, it's literally been stored all these years so it would be hard to find a better copy, all waiting for a new home, as I am parting with several of my original Punk crown jewels, including two rare 7"s by The Damned so please check my other items, good luck bidding!
