Description

An original '59 Mono 1st press on UK FONTANA. Matrix 2/1. Philips pressed for Fontana as you would expect in '59. Etchings 'V420' etc. Tax code 'ET' = 1959. This is all consistent with very 1st press in '59 - sweet! The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original cover with flipbacks. 
Vinyl (Ex) A super looking slab of vinyl and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of very light marks per side - nothing remotely. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of slightest deviations. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. For Jazz, and for the vintage, pretty dang fine. It is very clean signalled - consistently. And this is really important because this title is ridiculously quiet at some points. Only a super well preserved is going to stand even half a chance of delivering a proper and impressive rendition. A couple of low-level isolated ticks per side. Superb. Highly recommended.
Cover (Ex-) I wonder how many original covers are gonna be looking this tidy from '59? Well, let me assure you that the camera doesn't lie, here. That front is perfectly flat with no deterioration creasing or light fade. The rear has avoided much of the usual ageing. Just a couple of small grubby patches one on the right side and one on the left. Flipbacks are all intact and secure. Minimal edge wear and sharp openings. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Wowzer.
