Description
Eleven original 10 inch LPs on Fantasy label and all in various colours - red, green, blue and purple - all translucent. One of them a promo copy. These are original US releases from the early 1950s on Fantasy - a complete run for the 10 inch size from the Octet and Trios to the Quartet. That makes it very early for coloured vinyl. Except for a couple that are VG+, these are all VG condition according to my strict interpretation of the Discogs condition guide. This rating is just due to background crackles rather than anything worse. The crackles are generally noticeable but not overpowering or too intrusive. They sound really nice on my mono cartridge. The covers are G+VG/VG+ with some age-related marks and reinforcement or repair tape to some edges. See pictures. The labels are all clean. These are some really early classic recordings with Cal Tjader and Paul Desmond. I am listing other Brubeck on Ebay including coloured vinyl so keep an eye on my other items for sale. By catalogue number the records are: 3-1 - Trio - Distinctive Rhythm Instrumentals - green 3-2 - Trio - Distinctive Rhythm Instrumentals - blue 3-3 - Octet - Distinctive Rhythm Instrumentals - green 3-4 - Trio - Distinctive Rhythm Instrumentals - red 3-5 - Quartet - blue- 3-7 - Quartet - red 3-8 - Quartet/Quintet - Jazz at Storyville - red 3-11 - Quartet - Jazz at Oberlin - purple - (two identical copies of the vinyl included so see which one you think sounds best and discard the other) 3-13 - Quartet - Jazz at the College of the Pacific - green 3-16 - Octet - Old Sounds From San Francisco - green 3-20 - Paul and Dave - Jazz Interwoven - blue promo copy
Note these are all the original 10 inch releases not the later 12 inch releases. The couple of discs that look almost black in the group photos are actually violet/purple translucent.
