A chance to own this UK 1st press iconic David Bowie album Aladdin Sane.

Side 1 : CPRY 4543 - 3T A2 U
Side 2 : CPRY 4544 - 3T A1 AR
Front and Back cover and LP insert show some sign of aging, and on the back there is an unidentified mark on the btm left. Original card inner with lyrics. The fan club postcard insert has a slight aged beige mottling effect (see pictures). Because of this I would grade VG + overall.
The vinyl is solid, labels clean no writing, lays flat with very little spindle wear. Visuallly Side 1 is clean and appears scratch free. Side 2 does have a small scratch at the beginning of track one 'Time' which causes an audible repetitive click, but as the track gets going it's lost in the sound and then disappears. At the end of this track a separate repetitive click occurs but soon disappears into track 2, on which there are two light rub/scratch marks, but they do not effect the sound. There is some slight background noise with the odd crack and pop that you would expect from such an aged record, and is inevitably more noticeable in the run-ins, in between tracks and at the start and deadwax areas. However this is more than acceptable to my ears. I have certainly had worse on new pressings! Because of this I would grade overall as VG + to Ex but the whole of side 1 and the overall sound quality I would say is Ex +.
I do have problems accurately describing the sound quality as this is such a subjective issue. One persons idea of what background 'sparkle' (as my 9 year old grandson calls it) is acceptable may differ greatly from another, and it also depends on what sound stage it is being played on. I certainly don't have an issue with this copy, it is clear and precise in sound, no distortion and a lively punchy copy.
