David Bowie David Bowie 1st Press Stereo US Vinyl LP Very Rare
Bowie's first ever album release (it was issued earlier in the USA than in the UK ). Note the US edition of the album omits two tracks ('We Are The Hungry Men' and 'Maid of Bond Street') as opposed to the UK stereo edition David Bowie - David Bowie. It was released in both mono and stereo versions. The stereo issue is rarer than the mono. As it only sold in small quantities, many copies have a cut-out hole in the bottom right hand corner.
The US edition (Deram DE 16003/DES 18003), which has a blue instead of white rim, was released in August.
4-20-67 etched appears in the runout on each side. Track B2 both on back cover and the centre label is incorrectly listed as 'Silly Boy Blues' when it should in fact be '....Blue'. Rear cover bottom right hand corner: 'Distributed by LONDON RECORDS, INC. 539 West 25th Street New York, N.Y. 10001'. Original inner bag advertises 4 series of London Records releases: 'Mantovani, Phase 4 Stereo, Teen Beat, Popular and International'.

Side 2 has a scuff mark which does affect play, the album cover is in over all very good condition although the spine has age ware as can seen in the photos. For its age and rarity this is a very good copy for your collection and plays through very well indeed.
