Description
David Bowie Hunky Dory released in 1971. This is the version released in the non laminated sleeve. Matrices are APRS 5947 3T & APRS 5948 3T. These are machine stamped. Hand etched in the dead wax of side 1 is "Bobil" & on side 2 is "Rasputin". No "mainman" credit on the rear of the sleeve. Gem production on rear of sleeve, lyric inner & labels.
The sleeve is Very Good + to Excellent -. Some minor wear to the corners (see pictures 6 & 8). Some very light rubbing to bottom of the sleeve. Some very minor discolouration to the rear of the sleeve (picture 3). But that is as bad as it gets. Absolutely no tears or writing.
The Lyric inner is Very Good +. Some minor creasing at the corners & some age spots (pictures 9 & 10.
Visually the vinyl is Very Good + to Excellent. Some very light marks are visible when it is viewed under bright light but none of the marks have any effect on the audio. The labels are very clean. When viewed at an angle some light spindle marks are visible. Please see pictures 11 & 12. The audio is Excellent +. Really nothing to fault. Obviously no skips, jumps or repetitive clicks. Indeed in my small listening room I struggled to hear any surface noise, even between tracks. Playback was on a SME 20 with an SME V arm & Micro Benz cartridge.
This pressing is on the heavier RCA vinyl, not the abomination that was Dynaflex where RCA experimented with very thin vinyl.
